Get to Know Little Ears & Voices!

The Four Cs
At Little Ears & Voices, everything we do is rooted in care, backed by research, and shaped by real-life experience.
Our work is guided by four core pillars: Connection, Child-Led, Coaching, and Communication.
Keeping these values at the heart of our care is key to helping little voices grow.

Connection
Connection is the foundation of communication. Our approach to therapy is strength- and connections-based. Developing trust with a communication partner is the foundation for developing an intrinsic desire to communicate. This often means entering the child's world.
Child-Led
Children learn best through play. Playing supports development, strengthens bonds, and naturally encourages communication. Following your child’s lead will build trust, model language, and affirm their efforts in a way that feels safe and engaging. It also offers multi-sensory, low-pressure, and repeatable experiences that make learning language more effective and developmentally appropriate.
Coaching
Caregiver coaching is the best way to maximize progress and the overall outcomes of therapy. Coaching allows caregivers to become proficient in implementing strategies that will benefit their child in their daily routines and play that extend well beyond the time constraints of therapy. Imagine having the tools to better support your child’s communication every single day!
Communication
The goal of intervention at Little Ears & Voices is, and will always be, to provide each child with an avenue to effective and functional communication via access to robust language models. Communication may look different for every child, but ALL communication is equal and valid. We support each child's development within their preferred communication style!
My Story
Emily Howard • M.S., CCC-SLP
Hi, I’m Emily! I’m a speech-language pathologist licensed in Florida and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). I earned my bachelor’s degree in Hearing and Speech Sciences at the University of Maryland and my master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Florida.
I have the joy of working with children with a wide range of speech and language needs and D/deaf and hard-of-hearing (D/HH) adults. I am especially passionate about supporting D/HH children, autistic children, gestalt language processors, late talkers, and children with speech sound disorders. I am a neurodiversity-affirming therapist and am conversational in American Sign Language (ASL). In my free time, I love crocheting, doing art projects, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my husband and our rescue puppy, Beauclair.
I truly believe that strong relationships are at the heart of meaningful therapy. By focusing on each child’s unique interests and strengths, I tailor sessions to meet their individual goals, helping them grow in confidence and communication every step of the way. With thorough evaluations, personalized therapy plans, evidence-based strategies, and close collaboration with families, I’m here to support your child’s communication journey in the most impactful and encouraging way possible. I hope to work with you soon!
